Reflection
Since people had computers, there were more and more people who involved in designing, creating, and using the programming language to write and build a page to the Net. We almost know that there are many kinds of formats of information on the Internet, and also we recognize everything on the Internet is always changing and upgrading by the new technology day by day. Therefore, to people, knowing and realizing the contents of each web page is very important to help to find out or search the information quickly and easily. After reading those three online articles about evaluating website, I get more ideas and knowledge understanding how to evaluate the pages. In my opinion, those three articles are talking the same perspective on evaluating the website. From the chapter five, I get the SCAD checklist for evaluating the website. The items of SCAD are source evaluation, access, and design. From Five criteria for evaluating web pages, the five criteria are accuracy, authority, objectivity, currency and coverage. While we are evaluating the website, we should take those parts of above into consideration. Why? First of all, we have to know the author's credentials. Does the author list or describe his or her qualifications? If the author is an eleven-year-old elementary school student, is the information that he or she provided reliable? Second, about the contents, we should identify that information on the Internet whether the information is factual or ideal. We have to make sure the author provides e-mail or a contact address, and we can connect with him or her while we get some questions or problems. Third, about the website function or the best quality to browse the website, the author might give notes for users and so on. From Website evaluation criteria - an analysis of why websites fail, keywords, conversion rates, retention rates and who did you hire are the four criteria to evaluate the business or commercial website. In my opinion, in order to find out the information more easily and quickly, so, people can have the quick search engine box for their website. In addition, when authors design their websites, they should respect to not only the criteria that mentioned above, but also don't let the users get misunderstanding with the information and links that you provided. Moreover, about webpage design principles, simplicity, consistency, clarity balance, harmony and unity are very important parts for users to get a friendly feeling of it. The target of design web pages is the users, the readers. In one of the articles mentioned about "The e-business consultant can set strict guidelines on how the design is executed, and ensure that commercial success is prioritized over the designers desire to excel artistically (a problem with most sites)." The website is designed for users. Therefore, the first impression that the users got is an important factor to the author that designed the website. And building a website which is familiar with the famous site - Yahoo, is a point that the users might evaluate in their mind. Briefly, designing and evaluating are based on users' viewing.

Please put your evaluation on Anita's blog.

Thank you for your suggestions. ^_^

About my own website, I think I have to sign out the resource from and the content of a story should be more simply and easily to read to readers. About the downtime, I think the pictures and the music are wasted of time to see the whole content. I should make the music more shorter to download for the users. In my point of view, I think my own website should be more active and have more interaction with the users. I should design it more interesting and more attractive. Only one thing that I've done well is the background. I think it is good-looking. There is one thing that I had had frustructed is I couldn's use some flash pictures or animation with the mouse. About my links, I think I can type the URL of each link next to the pictures. Just not only use the pictures to instead of the hyperlink, but also let other users or readers to click it even see it clearly. Maybe there was somethings that I never discoverd, so, I think I should be very carefully to design it. I also hope I could design it well next time.

About Stella's individual website, I think she's done a good job. I think her website has consistency of the background. The structure of her website is quite good. But I think about her resume, she can change the color of her words. Not only use the purple, but also use other color to instead. One more thing is that about her links, I think she could give more details about her future job. On average, she is a good designer of her website.

Activities for ESL Students
This website provides many subcatagories, such as grammar, vocabulary, crossword, biligual, Java sript and so forth. Also, it offers a lot of quizzes, test, exercise and puzzles to help ESL studtents to learn English. After I try some activities about grammar, vocabulary, crossword and bilingual, I find out that I mix and feel confused with prepositions. Moreover, I realize to build up and memory more and more vocabulary is quite important, too. When I play the game of crossword and biligual quiz, I discover that learning more vocabulary is very helpful to analyse and fill in the blank. It also provide the sentence as a hint to the column. If I type the wrong word on the screen and make mistakes, it provide multiple-choice question. I am very impressed by multiple-choice question. I always try every answers to answer each question, and there is a dialogue box tell me that I type the worng answer, the correct answer is somethingelse. I think it's quite friendly, if you don't hesitate to hit the options button.

Advanced English Lesson
On the left hand side of this website, I could find lots of subcatagories - vocabulary, weekly lesson, grammar book, games, student forums and so on. I've tried conditionals and vocabulary. In conditionals, there are many exercises and it provides "Present", "Past", and "Future", and let students know how to use the verbs correctly. After fill-in all the blanks, I can press the botton "check" to check the answers. When I don't know the answer to the column, I could press the botton "hint" to give some letters of the word. In vocabulary, it provides English definition of each word. Then, scrolling down the webpage, there are two activities just similar to the exercises in conditional. In student forums, it provides a databased-forum. Everyone could post your own question on it. It's a common knowledge when I have problems about the website or other things, I could use "Contact Us" to send an email to the webmaster. But, there is another way to do it that is post my question on the studtent forums. I think there are many people who will be willing to give the answer.

Although I recognize that English grammar is one of shortages for (to) me, I still keep on correcting my mistakes. I am still learning. Knowing the right usage of the words is quite important for ESL students, especially for us. We need to try, just keep doing one thing "try"!
